EarMaster on Macintosh?
Yes I do. With a delay 5ms, image and sound are synchronized. But that's not the problem. Perhaps should you try the software on a trial version of fusion to see what happens ?
Hi,I'm a beginner and HELP Needed!
I feel that earmaster isn't the right way to start learning your intervals. First, sit down at your piano and play the interval you want to learn. Then play it again, starting on a different note. Then again. Sing it as you go along. When you get a pretty good feel for it, then start testing your...
Tritone, Augmented 4, Diminished 5
Thank you, Hans. Your explanation makes sense. I look forward to improved handling of enharmonic intervals in future versions. Your suggestion for handling the Aug 4 vs. Dim 5 would be satisfactory. My own practice is to simply name the interval 'tritone' in isolation, and call it Aug 4 or Di...

A little update: The Italian version is available in the new build. The whole program and the tutors have been translated by our friend Michele from Digital Music :-)

earmaster on linux (ubuntu)
viewtopic.php?t=596 there you go. indeed, you need wine. I made a few terminological mistakes (concerning the terminal, for instance) when writing that howto, but it shouldn't be too hard to follow. a bit more sluggish than if you run it natively, but pretty much fully functional.

Progressions: Specific Pattern of Inversions, etc.?
To make the perfect cadences, my understanding is you need to be able to specify the soprano (or top) voice. For a phrygian cadence, we'd also need to somehow specify contrary motion. If this can be done in EM5, I'd like to know how, and if not, consider it a suggestion for enhancement.
