Musical Delphi developer

EarMaster ApS is a small-sized software company based in Aarhus, Denmark. The company has developed the ear training program “EarMaster”, used by musicians, music students and music teachers.

  • A full-time position at our office in Aarhus, Denmark.
    We are however willing to accept remote developers if your skills can compensate for the disadvantage of not being at the office. If you cannot move to Denmark, please only apply if you have VERY strong skills in both Delphi/Lazarus AND in music theory. Another condition is that you must come to our office aprox. once per month.

Your tasks:

Development of EarMaster (design and programming) on both Mac OS X and Windows, using Delphi and Lazarus/FPC.

You:
  • Are a talented programmer with several years of professional experience with Delphi/Lazarus, Java, C++, or similar.
  • Your main language of coding is Delphi (object pascal), or you have at least a couple of years professional experience with Delphi and are willing to put the needed effort into becoming a native Delphi coder.
  • Have a strong knowledge of music theory, including reading notes or tablatures, naming of intervals and basic construction of chords.
  • You can play a music instrument.
  • Are systematic and structured.
  • Are committed and motivated.
  • Speak English fluently
  • Have preferably a relevant degree in computer science, engineering, data-mathematics or similar education.
  • Have preferably been working with both Windows and Mac OS X - as user or as programmer. (experience from other X environment is also relevant, e.g. BSD, Linux, etc)
  • Have preferably used Lazarus and FPC (free pascal) to develop cross platform applications
  • Are preferably familiar with music technologies such as MIDI, Wave recording, VST, etc.
