EarMaster will be attenting the 2009 edition of the Texas Music Educators Assiociation's convention between Feb. 11 and Feb 14, 2009 in San Antonio, TX. Meet Hans and Quentin at the eMedia/EarMaster booth (3422 & 3424) and try out EarMaster School on our workstation. The TMEA show is one of the biggest American convention for music educators with over 3000 booths. The 2009 edition will also host the TI:ME (Technology Institute for Music Educators) conference, which works for the development of technology in music education. The highly anticipated Macinstosh OS X-compatible version of EarMaster 5 is finally available! After months of intense development, we are proud to release EarMaster Pro 5 and EarMaster School 5 for Macintosh. Both programs work with Apple computers running OS X 10.4.11 or superior and equipped with Intel or PowerPC processors (Universal Binary). The new Mac version is fully similar to the Windows version of EarMaster 5, and the Tutor files and settings are cross-platform. This means that users with different machines can share files without compatility issues. The program is now delivered on a hybrid CD-Rom with both versions included, or it can be downloaded from www.earmaster.com. If you already own a license for the Windows version but have moved over to Macintosh, you can now download the Mac version of EarMaster and activate it with your serial number for free! EarMaster at the Music and Sound fair in Paris - August 27 2008

Meet the EarMaster staff at the 2008 edition of the Music and Sound fair in Paris, France (Parc des expositions, Porte de Versailles) between September 12 and September 15. You will find us in the "Musiques Actuelles" (Modern music) area, Hall 4, booth A56. Hans, Quentin and Pierre-Elie will be there to welcome you and answer any of the questions you may want to ask. A workstation with MIDI hardware (keyboard and drum pad) will be available on the booth so that visitors can try EarMaster out, and a projector will be displaying presentation videos. EarMaster goes to the ISME international conference in Bologna - July 4th2008

EarMaster ApS will participate to the upcoming ISME international conference for music educators. The event will take place between July 21 and July 25, 2008 in beautiful Bologna, Italy. This conference will be the occasion for us to introduce our new Italian distributor Midiware Srl, known for their pioneer collaboration with Steinberg products (Cubase and more) and the release of the Italian version of EarMaster 5. The Spanish Ministry of Education chooses EarMaster! - June 3rd2008

The Spanish ministry of Education has decided to include EarMaster in their manual for secondary-level music teaching. The official textbook CLAVE C, published by Mc Graw-Hill Intramericana and used in all Spanish schools, will provide examples and exercises of practical theory with EarMaster to the students at the 4. We are very proud to announce that EarMaster 5 has been translated into Russian. This quality translation was provided by prestigious music professor Shapilov Vitaliy Aleksandrovitch from the Kazakh Kurmangazy national conservatoire. The number of languages in EarMaster 5 has now come up to 16! Language barrier is once again definitely not an excuse anymore for not training your ear. EarMaster 5 now also in Portuguese - May 9th 2007
| EarMaster has recently been translated into Portuguese, bringing the number of languages included in EarMaster up to 15!
The translation was made available to our Portuguese-speaking friends thanks to the precious help of Tiago Figueiredo, Professor at the Escola de Música do Conservatório Nacional (National Music Conservatory) in Lisboa. Andrew Gilbert of Keyboard Player Magazine has in the March issue reviewed EarMaster School.
He goes through the program in great detail and begins his article by pointing out the importance
of ear training in music. In conclusion, Gilbert gives his whole-hearted recommendation of the
program and is very impressed by its content.
“I had a lot of fun playing around with EarMaster 5. It pretty much does what a music teachers does (or should do!) and whilst my opinion is still that no software will ever replace a real teacher, it’s a very useful addition to traditional tuition and, if you are learning on your own, it’s a million per cent better than having no aural training at all. When you start using EarMaster, you very soon recognise the fact that the exercises have all been well thought out, by music teachers, no doubt!” “In short I was very impressed by the content, the way that the exercises work, and by the overall quality of the experience when using the program. Whether in use at home or in a school setting, it works simply and simply works. Back from NAMM and a meeting with ear training expert Professor Mason - February 2nd 2007

The music convention NAMM is now over and a lot of guests learned about EarMaster at the stand of our American distributor eMedia.
We met and spoke with several interesting people and saw some great products.
At the convention we also hooked up with Professor Thom Mason who is Professor of Jazz Studies at the USC Thornton School of Music, where his main interest is in jazz pedagogy and the teaching of jazz ear training. Professor Mason is an accomplished jazz-musician and has appeared on several recordings as well as four albums under his own name. He is also the author of the aural skill books The Art of Hearing (Hal Leonard) and Ear Training for Improvisers (Alfred) and the upcoming title Jazz Ears. EarMaster 5 has been reviewed by music teacher Erik Berg Olsen from Naerum Amtsgymnasium (higher secondary school) in the union magazine Musikbladet. He praises EarMaster 5 for being an intuitive and very accessible tool that will make ear training and music theory fun for students of all ages.
Students, who find theory and ear training tedious and boring, will benefit greatly from using EarMaster and Mr. Olsen backs this up with examples from his own teaching experience. EarMaster in brain research! - April 27th 2006
| EarMaster has now entered the world of science! A group of three scientist from New York University (Department of Physiology and Neuroscience) and University of Oregon (Department of Human Physiology and School of Music) has published
a paper in “Experimental Brain Research”. The title of the paper is “Accuracy and underlying mechanisms of shifting movements in cellists”
and it is basically about how string players play in tune. One of their questions was whether musicians with higher perceptual abilities (aural abilities) - would show increased pitch accuracy. They used EarMaster’s interval exercises to test this! And now it is scientifically proved: “We correlated pitch performance (both variability and accuracy) with auditory perceptual abilities (interval identification) and performance proficiency in all cellists. We found that there were significant positive correlations between the perceptual ability and the pitch accuracy, and performance proficiency and accuracy…” Ear training works! Tell your friends! EarMaster at Musikmesse Frankfurt 2006 - April 3rd 2006
| The Frankfurt Messe 2006 is well over and we had a pleasant and hectic stay there. Five EarMaster Pro and School demonstrations were held every day and we would like to thank everyone who dropped by and listened. It was great seeing new faces every day
and it was a pleasure talking to some of you after the demonstrations.
Our attendance at the Musikmesse was a great showcase for us - an opportunity to show that EarMaster is the world-leader in ear training software. The Frankfurt Messe is breathtakingly huge, so we of course spent our spare time searching for inspiration. We had a lot of interesting talks and got lots of exciting promising ideas. Plans and initiatives were revealed and discussed. Stay tuned in this news section! |

EarMaster in Frankfurt! - March 1st 2006
| EarMaster will attend the Frankfurt Music Fair from March 29th to April 1st and we’ll be located at our German distributor, Klemm Music Technology’s fair stand [Hall 5.1 C78-C83]. Being enthusiastic musicians ourselves, we’re of course thrilled to attend this huge event, because it’s the perfect showcase for EarMaster. Every day demonstrations and presentations will be held in both English end German. Kenneth, representing EarMaster Communication & Marketing, will host 3-4 daily demonstrating presentations in English, and Jörg, representing Klemm Music Technology, will host a number of presentations in German. These presentations will take you through the program’s different facets, and features and we’ll illustrate why EarMaster 5  is the number one interactive and musical ear training software available.
