Review of EarMaster Pro 5

Imagine for a moment that you have a music professor at your disposal 24 hours a day, 365 days a year helping you with your education and musical development in a way that is pleasant and easy to understand.

EarMaster Pro 5 is a virtual tutor in auditory and rhythmical training that helps students to think and decide for themselves. It is the ideal tool in school education. A program written for professors, students, musicians of all levels or people who wish to approach the world of music, extend or improve their musical ear. This piece of software is visually very pleasing, intuitive and very easy to use.

The program is easy to control and everything is contained in the “magical instructor”, where the principal functions are listed in a menu and from where all exercises are carried out.

Option 1: The EarMaster standard tutor. Here you will find a wide array of exercises within the areas of interval recognition, how to recognize chords and progressions, exercises and dictations of rhythmical exercises etc.

Option 2: The EarMaster Jazz tutor. This section is for the advanced musician who wants to enter the world of jazz. Here you will find a great deal of exercises in identifying chords, listening and recognizing typical harmonic progressions in standard jazz as well as exercises in reading and imitation rhythms.

Option 3: Customized exercises. This option is especially designed for the professor or student to create and configure their very own exercises at whichever level they wish.

You do not need to know anything about music to use any of the tutors, because the program will score you on your exercises and increase the difficulty the better you become. It is like having a professor at your disposal 24 hours a day.
