instrument sound played with extreme reverb (like in a hall)

Post by yemu » Feb 05, 2015 6:16 am

Hello,

I'm testing EarMaster and unfortunately found it unusable because the notes played in excercises are played with a reverb effect (like in a giant concert hall).
It happend both in my XP setup and in Linux using WINE?
In XP it happens with Fluid soundfont and external (z-doc) but not with Microsoft SW GM, in Luinux I don't have Microsoft SF and it happens also to Fluid and Z-doc. When I check the instruments in the Instruments Tab they sound ok (no effect, pure sound). But in a midi tab there's reverb, and it also happens in all the excercises.

do you have any suggestions what might be the problem?
i really like earmaster and would like to start using it, but now it is not possible, because of the reverbarated sounds that layer one on another.

thanks for suggestions
y

Hi,

Is FluidSynth installed on your Windows and Linux setups?
Also, are you talking of a big but short reverb, or a gigantic long cave-like one that lasts over a second?
