Location for results and progression - without cloud

Post by VAP » May 02, 2020 2:16 pm

Hello, I'm looking for the memory location of the data of my EarMaster profile (settings, results, progression).
Can you tell me where this data is stored by default? (Without cloud license).
I deleted this data by mistake but should have most of it in an computer backup.
Thanks!

Hi,

These are placed in different locations on Windows, macOS or in a version from the Mac App Store, and on the different generations of EarMaster versions (1, 2, 4, 5, 6, 7, etc). Which one are you using?

Notice that for the files to load on another computer, the Windows user name needs to be strictly identical.

Hey there Quentin,

Could you share the MacOS location as well?

I am trying to move my data from a failed OSX computer to a Windows one. Not sure if that is possible without creating a backup file first..

That might work if the OS user name is strictly identical on your old Mac and on the new Windows PC.

On Mac, the file is located at /Users/[username]/Library/Containers/com.earmaster.ear70p/Data/Library/Application Support/EarMaster/7.0/Data/ (replace [username] by your user name in macOS)

And on Windows: C:\ProgramData\EarMaster\7.0\Data\

FYI, there is now an Export/Import backup function available from the FILE menu of EarMaster 7, which makes things much easier if you can still access the installation that you need to back up and transfer.

Thanks! It worked.
I found the 2 'results' files, which I had to copy over from where they were in the Mac, to where they are supposed to be on Windows.
