Feature request: scale identification in intervals

Post by chameleon » Apr 23, 2021 12:26 am

Hello earmaster team and anyone else who feels like chiming in,

first of all thanks for your great product and the great value it offers and also consistently fixing and improving it. You have my deepest respect and appreciation for that.
Here's my proposal:
Right now for scale identification (in selfmade exercises), you can only set it to ascending, descending, random, and sounding together as a chord (the last one is a bit of a headscratcher to me, to be honest).
One thing it doesn't feature, which regularly comes up in conservatory exams, is having a scale played back in e.g. ascending thirds.
Wouldn't it be fun, if you could also practice this with earmaster? :D

regards, c.

Thanks for your compliments on EarMaster!

Such an exercise is actually planned for the future.

As for the scales played harmonically, don't take my word for it but as I remember it, it was a user suggestion and was labelled as a "Bonamassa-inspired scale ID exercise". I'm not sure if it refers to Joe Bonamassa and whether he advocates this kind of exercises, but that's how I remember it :)
