Rhythm Reading Exercise - not recording clapping/spacebar

Post by jesseredstone » Feb 22, 2013 2:47 pm

I find that about half the time that I do rhythm reading exercises it won't register any of the beats that I'm clapping or pressing on the spacebar. I end up getting 0% on the exercises as though I had sat through it silently. It shows a red x underneath each note and nothing else. I can tell the microphone is picking up my claps because the green bar beside the mic icon shoots up when I do. Is this a bug in the software or is there anything that can be done about it?

Oh, and in case it matters, I'm using EM6 on a new Macbook Pro running Mac OSX Mountain Lion.

You can do something about it:

Go to "Tools" in the main menu, and then to "Microphone calibration tool...".
This will open the microphone calibration tool.

It is important that you perform all the steps carefully, to ensure that EarMasters microphone settings fit your microphone.

One of the steps let you clap: With every clap you will see a green blok moving one position to the right. For rhythm exercises to work, this step needs to go well.
