Best Daily Practice Routine to Improve Ear Training Skills

Post by lenarichards »

Hi everyone, I’ve recently started focusing more seriously on ear training and wanted to ask for some advice on building an effective daily practice routine. I’ve been using exercises like interval recognition and chord identification, but I’m not sure how to structure my sessions for the best progress. Sometimes I feel like I’m improving, but other times it feels inconsistent. How long do you usually practice each day, and do you focus on one skill at a time or mix different exercises? I’d really appreciate hearing your routines or any tips that helped you improve faster.

Consistency matters more than duration, 15–20 minutes daily with focused drills works well. I’d mix skills but keep each block short, and regularly test without context to track real progress.
