SALES MANAGER for music education software

EarMaster is a music software company from Aarhus, Denmark. We develop and sell the desktop and mobile app EarMaster as well as the cloud solution EarMaster Cloud, which are used all around the world by musicians and music schools to develop their musical skills using ear training, sight-singing, rhythm, music theory, and more.

Starting in 1996 as a one-man operation, EarMaster is today the leader of the music theory software market in B2C (musicians and students). We also have a decent share of the B2B market (music schools, conservatories, universities, etc.), but the potential is huge and we have just scratched the surface of what can be achieved.

The Corona situation has matured the B2B market, so now is the right time to really scale up our market penetration - and this is where you come into the picture! We are looking for a new colleague with excellent sales skills and a musical background, so that a lot more schools from all countries can adopt our educational solution EarMaster Cloud and make it the uncontested leader on the market!


Job description

Planning and undertaking the sales activities of our SaaS solution EarMaster Cloud. Your customers will be Music Schools, Conservatories, Universities, Choirs, School Bands, etc. Our primary B2B markets are currently USA, Canada, UK, France, Latin America and Scandinavia, but we work with schools from most countries.
You will be a part of a highly skilled and passionate team that wants to make a dent in the universe! Since we expect a high degree of collaboration with the rest of our team, the workplace is our office in Aarhus, Denmark.


Your responsibilities

  • Planning lead generation in cooperation with our marketing manager.
  • Managing automatic and manual sales funnels and ensure that we follow up on all leads and none of them are lost or forgotten.
  • Cold Canvas sales (email, phone or other media).
  • Video sales meetings where you’ll demonstrate EarMaster and close the deal.
  • Find the best sales approach for each country: direct sales efforts (by you) or eventually choosing to use a local Educational Partner, hiring a local sales person, etc.
  • Building a structured approach to lead generation, customer acquisition and user retention, using our sales CRM and marketing automation tools among other things.
  • Participate in a few tradeshows (NAMM in LA, Music Education Expo in London, Educational Conferences, etc.) – but besides that, we do not expect a lot of travelling activity.
  • Initially, you will set the standard and execute all sales processes for our B2B activities
  • As sales activities grow, you will be responsible for hiring and leading local sales staff in the most relevant countries. For example in the US.


Your profile

  • Experience with B2B sales, preferably with SaaS or other subscription solutions.
  • Good knowledge of music theory in order to fully understand the needs of music teachers.
  • Preferably with a musical education or experience as a music teacher.
  • Strong English skills (oral and written).
  • Good computer skills in order to demonstrate EarMaster and use various productivity tools (CRM, Excel, etc.).
  • Preferably experience with sales to the educational market, with all the paperwork that it implies.
  • You can give and receive constructive criticism. At EarMaster, we "play the ball and not the man".
