Midi In with an Mbox 2

Post by jake8008 » Jan 14, 2010 2:20 pm

I've got sounds coming through the mbox, but earmaster isn't recognizing them.

The midi input in earmaster is on and i've selected mbox 2 port 1 from the drop down option for Midi in.

What's the problem?

Hi,
Is the green circle of the MIDI icon (at the bottom of the EarMaster window) getting brighter when you hit a tone?

Make sure the MIDI input in EarMaster is activated (under the "Answer Input" menu).
Is your MIDI input working in other programs?

Are you using EarMaster on Mac OS or Windows? (and which version?)

Thanks. Have you checked the Audio/MIDI setup (in OS X) and/or in the M-Box's control panel and made sure that the MIDI is routed and activated as it should.

Sorry for these very general questions, but EM's MIDI has been tested and re-tested with all kinds of set ups without any problem, so before our developer looks into the MIDI code, we have to make sure that it's not just a question of set up, driver or similar.
