Lessons Only Half Start

Post by dhammers » Sep 29, 2013 12:06 pm

This has been a problem in each area of study in my edition of Earmaster Pro 6 for about the last two weeks. I will begin a lesson, let's say in Interval Comparison. The first interval will sound, but the second won't. In rhythm exercises, there will be no metronome, despite my settings having one on, and I'll have no way to track where to signify a beat. The program doesn't freeze, or anything like that. But the lessons simply stopped functioning one day, and I haven't been able to figure out what the issue is or how to fix it.
Any help would be greatly appreciated.

In addition, for rhythm exercises, the metronome lead-in just counts one beat. Basically, each exercise gives me the initial sound and that's it

Can you go in EarMaster's preferences, and make sure that 2 sounds are selected for the metronome under "MIDI instruments".
Make also sure that you have the latest update of EarMaster Pro 6 (HELP menu --> Check for updates).

There are two sounds set for the metronome in Preferences, and I have the latest edition (6.1).

For the rhythm exercises, I get the initial cowbell signaling, then no others. Then when I hit the spacebar, markings appear, but they're not in relation to any rhythm, and the markings can appear past the end of the exercise's measures

What OS are you using (WIndows or Mac OSX and which version?)?

I just tested the latest update on 10.6, but I can't reproduce it. Are you using the version from the Mac Appstore or the one from our website?

Is the microphone input activated maybe (microphone icon at the top right or from the Answer input menu). That would cause claps to be inputted erratically I guess.
