Melody Imitation Errors Last Two Updates

Post by bparham79 » Jun 10, 2014 8:27 am

Hello Ear Master Pro Team,

The Melody Imitation exercise is playing additional tones (the three that are part of the exercise and three additional tones), which are impossible to answer given the number of tones in the question.

I'm using a Macbook, and the problem is at its worse on module 1, level 6. I thought the latest update would fix it, but no dice.

Thanks in advance for taking the time to address this.

Hello,
I can't reproduce the issue with the latest update on Mac (or WIndows for that matter). I tried it with lesson 6 of module 1.
Is EarMaster playing the exact same 3 tones, or is it playing different ones?

Hi Quentin.

It's playing an entirely different set of three--and sometimes six--tones, all of which are impossible to answer.

Do you need to know my exact exercise settings?

Hi Quentin,

I just wanted to let you know I tried working through module number 2, and I'm getting the same problem as described above. I even tried to uninstall and re-install the program, but nothing seems to solve the issue.

Please advise.

Hi,

Thank you. I have not been able to reproduce the error not matter how much I try.
Could you please tell me what settings you have in the "Exercise Settings" menu?

Also, could you please send a quick video recording of the error to support@earmaster.com? You can make the screen recording easily using QuickTime, which includes a screen recording featuring in one of the top bar menus. Hearing (and seeing) the error will help us a great deal understanding what might be happening I guess.

Hi Quentin,

I deleted all of my Ear Master Pro related files, reinstalled the program, and I haven't had a problem since. If, however, the problem resurfaces, I'll make a quicktime screen video and send it to you as requested.

Thanks for your time!

Great! That was an easy fix then. Maybe a file (settings file?) got corrupted somehow. Anyway, I'm glad it's up and running again. Please feel welcome to get in touch again if there's anything you want to ask.

Best regards,
Quentin
