Despaired getting a good ear - reaching upper threshold

I do!
EarMaster is sometimes too challenging...So it's nice to be able to customize,but...I mean do you once felt you reached your upper threshold and get frustrated because you cannot go further? :wall:

What do you do then?
Do you go on and try...or do you take a pause?
I stopped for 2 weeks now...I played music instead of just practicing with EM.
True, it improves abilities. :-D
There is still a difference between EM and a "real" session with your band. :-?

It's a week I didn't touch Earmaster. Because of that and because I didn't have time too.

Customize

I use the 4.0 version, and simply customize my own lessons after I reached the highest level severeral times in each lesson, and felt that I couldn't learn more from the bulid in teacher.

Yeah I get frustrated at times also. but I ushually sit back and rest for a few minutes... and I find out that I am ushually straining my ear.... the key I found is dont strain.. stay in a very relaxed state, and try to hear the tones naturally.. without putting to much emphasis on it.. dont get me wrong, there is emphasis to be put to each note etc, but to much can be a bad thing.

How to practice with EarMaster...

Post by Bojan » Jun 24, 2006 5:17 am

Well guys, I once exercised for an hour or two, and after finishing all the lessons, I hadn't been able to continue at all, so too much of exercises isn't good at all, I'd say a half of an hour should be good.

What I do is maximum 3 times the same lesson if I don't get a good score. Afterthat, I stop until next day, if I can the next day
