Should I complete all of EM5 before serious piano training?

Post by northspoon1 » Jan 15, 2011 4:58 pm

Opinions please... Should I use EM5 to 'supplement' piano training, or should I complete most or all of EM5 before I start playing, so that I do not get 'as' frustrated once I start playing (piano). My thoughts are that I will complete most of the EM5 Standard exercises, then get started with some serious piano training. Anyway, that's the current plan....

With ear training, it's always a good idea to put things into practice as soon as possible with "real life" music after training with exercises like those included in EarMaster. I think it would be a good idea to start your piano practice, maybe just casually to start with, while building up your aural skills.
