Suggestion: Intonation Exercises

Post by rmatosinhos » Jan 16, 2018 5:30 pm

I would like to suggest a new group of activities for Earmaster: Intonation Exercises
This would help students to learn how to tune their instruments.

This might include:

intonation comparison:
Two melodic intervales starting a quarter tone apart and decreasing to smaller intervals. And user just have to answer if the second interval was higher or lower.

Chord tuning identification:
Then exercises with chords and one out of tune note: the user had to listen to one interval and indicate which degree was out of tune.
For example a major chord with an out of tune 5th, then the 3rd etc...

This could include different levels with minor, major, diminished, augmented and then also some 7th chords.

In these exercises, and option for selecting the intonation between tempered or just intonation would be great too.

Thanks a lot for your suggestion. Intonation exercises have a high priority on our list, but we didn't think of one that includes chords. It's a very good idea that we will add to our list.
