Melodic dictation MusicXML database

Post by denis » Oct 07, 2015 11:39 am

Hallo,

I'm searching a Melodic dictation MusicXML database. I would like to practice tunes which have dotted notes and different rhythmic patterns.

That page includes links to librarires of music scores in MusicXML format.

EarMaster can import Music XML scores in its own Melody Database, and use them in several activities (Dictations, sight-singing, melody imitation, etc.).

To use them, choose "Customized Activity" and an activity that works with melodies (Dictation, imitation or sight-singing). Then, in the Exercise setup window, select "Melody Database" at the top left instead of "Generated melodies". Click then on "Add Melody" to access EarMaster's Melody Database. There, you will be able to import the Music XML files you have downloaded (see screenshot).
You do not have the required permissions to view the files attached to this post.

Hi,

MusicXML files are simply pieces of music from notation programs like Finale or Sibelius, and which you can turn into EarMaster exercises after importing them. I am making a video at the moment to show you how it's done. I'll get back to you asap.
