Your version 6 license is also valid for 6.2, which is newer than 6.1 and does work on Windows 10. You can download EarMaster 6.2 in our download archives at https://www.earmaster.com/download-archive.html

In these situations, are you maybe only singing one pitch? Then the app doesn't know whether you're singing an interval downwards, or transposing the correct interval to a different octave. The solution would be to sing both notes.

Are you using the built-in mic of your Mac or an external one? And have you noticed if there is software that uses your microphone running when the problem happens?

Hi, Yes indeed, the app needs you to hold the tone long enough for it to detect what pitch you are singing.
